सरकार द्वारा लोगों को दिया गया आर्थिक सहायता या छुट को Subsidy कहते है। किसी जरूरतमंद व्यक्ति, संस्था और व्यवसाय को सरकार आर्थिक सहायता Subsidy में रूप में देती हैं। जरूरतमंद लोगों का आर्थिक बोझ कम करने के लिए Subsidy दी जाती हैं। अगर किसी क्षेत्र में बहुत नुक्सान हो रहा हैं तो सरकार उस क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भी Subsidy के रूप में आर्थिक सहायता देती हैं। किसी वस्तु की कीमत में वृद्धि होने पर भी सरकार Subsidiy देकर उस वस्तु की कीमत पर नियंत्रण रखने की कोशिश करता हैं।
इसका सबसे बड़ा उदहारण घरेलू गैस सिलिंडर की खरीदारी पर देखा जा सकता हैं। गैस सिलिंडर की कीमत की कुछ हिस्सा बैंक खाते में Subsidy के रूप में वापस प्राप्त होता हैं और इस हिसाब से गैस सिलिंडर की कीमतों पर राहत मिलता हैं। इसके अलावा आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर लोगों को घर बनवाने के लिए, स्वचालय बनवाने के लिए, कृषि विकास के लिए भी Subsidy दिया जाता है।
Subsidy के कितने भाग होते हैं?
सरकार द्वारा Subsidy नगद भुगतान के रूप में या सीधे बैंक खातों पर जमा कराया जाने पर
उसे प्रत्यक्ष Subsidy कहते हैं।
सरकार द्वारा Subsidy नगद भुगतान के रूप में या सीधे बैंक खातों पर जमा न होकर किसी
अन्य माध्यम से दिए जाने पर अप्रत्यक्ष Subsidy कहते हैं। कर/टैक्स में छूट अप्रत्यक्ष Subsidy है।
किसी विशेष उत्पादन पर दिए जाने वाली Subsidy को उत्पादन Subsidy कहते हैं।
देश में बेरोजगारी की समस्या को कम करने के लिए दिए जाने वाली Subsidy को
रोजगार Subsidy कहते हैं।
उद्द्योगों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सरकार कर/टैक्स में रियायत देती है और इसे
कर/टैक्स Subsidy कहते हैं।
परिवहन Subsidy परिवहन पर दी जाती है ताकि लोग निजी वाहन का इस्तेमाल न
करें और सरकारी परिवहन का इस्तेमाल कर प्रदुषण को कम करने में सरकार का सहयोग करें।
धार्मिक Subsidy देश के तीर्थ यात्री को देती हैं ताकि यात्रा के दौरान तीर्थ यात्रिओं
का खर्चे का बोझ कम हो सके।
